Office of Minority Business Development to host professional development workshops for contractors and subcontractors to improve procurement opportunities

The City of Richmond’s Office of Minority Business Development (OMBD) and other partners are offering a Construction Workshop Series to assist contractors in improving their procurement opportunities by developing their technical skills and knowledge.

The goal is to arm local contractors, especially minority contractors, with professional development in order to increase their procurement success in Richmond.

The series consists of ten intensive lessons that will focus on different areas of contracting. Subject areas include project management, project expectations, understanding contracts, successful estimating, bonding, accessing funding with the City of Richmond and much more.

The program begins Wednesday, February 26, 2020 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Huguenot Community Center, 7945 Forest Hill Avenue. All classes are free and light refreshments will be provided, but space is limited. Businesses and individuals interested in participating should register as soon as possible.
