RVA311 Releases Two New Service Requests

In response to requests from our Citizens, RVA311 has partnered with leaders for our teams that investigate Right of Way Violations and Private Property Construction without a Permit concerns and we are excited to add two new service requests in February:

Report Public Right of Way Violation
Report Private Property Construction without a Permit

Both requests are located in the Zoning and Code Enforcement category.   The requests will be publicly available via the Citizen Portal at RVA311.com, via the Mobile App and as always, Citizens can report their concerns by calling the 311 Call Center.

The Report Public Right of Way Violation request allows citizens to report obstructions, encroachments or hazards (e.g. dumpsters, equipment, fencing, etc.) in public right of ways such as streets, alleys or sidewalks.   The request form collects details such as the location of the issue, whether vehicular or pedestrian traffic is impeded or blocked, and whether permits are visible.  The Right of Way Engineering team in DPW then investigates and takes the appropriate action.

The Report Private Property Construction without a Permit request allows citizens to report ongoing construction on private (business or residential) property they suspect is being conducted without proper permits.  The request form collects details such as where on the property the work is being performed, the type of work being performed and whether the work poses a hazard or danger.  The Permits team then investigates and takes the appropriate action.

To access the new requests, visit RVA311.com and scroll down to the Zoning and Code Enforcement category. Submitting requests through RVA311 provides citizens with an easy way to track their requests, if they choose to provide an email address for updates.

Thank you for your feedback, so that we can continue to improve the options provided via RVA311.
